Template Production Workflow
Finish your template with inline text formatting, save it, and connect it to your deck in the Card Deck Editor.
Inline formatting: icons and styles inside card text
Trading-card games love special symbols — mana icons, energy costs, keyword highlights. The Template Inline Formatting panel lets you define reusable entries for the current template, in four groups: tokens, fonts, colors, and sizes.
Set up a token
- Open the token subsection.
- Enter a Key — a short code like
RorCOST_1. - Enter a Label — the readable name, like Red Mana.
- Save the template to keep the token list.
When card text contains the token syntax, the template renders the matching icon or style automatically. Fonts, colors, and sizes work the same way — define once, use in any card text.
Save and reload templates
- Click Save Template when the canvas and formatting are ready. The template joins your saved library and appears in the template dropdown.
- To keep editing later, pick the template from the dropdown and wait for it to load into the canvas.
Connect the template to your deck
- Open the Card Deck Editor.
- Choose your saved template in the deck-side template picker.
- Open the Template Field Link panel and connect deck columns to the template's fields.
- If the template has Front and Back content, repeat the setup for both sides.
After redesigning a template, reopen the Card Deck Editor and re-check the template selection, field links, and preview. Keeping the same field names during a redesign means your links keep working without changes.
Delete and replace with care
- Delete removes the selected saved template from your library.
- New clears the editor to start fresh — it doesn't delete anything saved.
Before deleting a template, make sure no deck still depends on it. Decks pointing to a deleted template lose their design.
